CLASSROOM DESIGN AND RENOVATION

Having completed a five year program of renovations for classrooms with 70 seats or less, 2013 renovation plans focused on four larger lecture halls: Girvetz 1004, Life Sciences 1001, Psychology 1902 and Psychology 1924.
Girvetz 1004 was renovated over the summer with all new seating, carpeting, and paint.
Life Sciences 1001, Psychology 1902 and 1924 were completed in December. In Psychology, all of the original 1960's tablet arm chairs were replaced, floors resurfaced, and walls and ceilings repainted.
In addition, selected classrooms in Bldg 387, Buchanan, Girvetz, HSSB, Phelps, and South Hall had new venetian blinds installed, ceilings repaired, walls painted, and damaged floors repaired. Girvetz Hall classrooms with drop ceilings also had new energy efficient lighting installed.
