PRESTON CLOUD LABORATORY
The Lab does not actually study clouds. Preston was his first name. I am not making this up. The building was originally designed as an ultra-clean lab to study moon rocks. Had little green microbes returned to Earth along with the rocks, scientists were very concerned that UCSB could become the death capital of the world spreading clouds of little green microbes to Lompoc and beyond. No life was ever found and Preston's Lab has been neglected ever since. This is just a long-winded way of saying that it could use a new coat of paint.

Who knows what lurks behind these ominous doors also in need of some TLC.

Although it is among the most humble of buildings at UCSB with a coat of paint it may not be quite so obvious. | |
