CHEMISTRY

The lobby entrance facing the Campus Green Belt is attractive and well maintained.

An informative display attracts the eye upon entering the lobby.

Plaques honoring Nobel Prize recipients in Chemistry add an impressive touch.
A comfortable seating area enhances the lobby.
A cluster of modern tables and chairs provide a sense of community to the entrance. The curved decorative wall adds interest and softens the otherwise linear appearance of the lobby.
An old lab bench tries its best to add heritage to the room. It doesn't work.
Walkways leading to the building are an unattractive conglomeration of colors with remnants of an old bicycle parking area directly in front of the two large lecture halls.
Viewed from any angle, the entrances to the lecture halls could be a lot more attractive with less asphalt and multi-colored concrete.
Entrance doors to the lecture halls (Chem 1171 and 1179) are often cluttered with irrelevant advertising.
The primary entrance for faculty and staff is through the north side of the buillding. It is unattractive to say the least.
Most occupants of te building enter from the north, walk by the loading dock and shop area, and finally enter a corridor in need of a fresh coat of paint.
Both walls and doors could use a new coat of paint.
More of the same.
The public elevator area is in particularly poor condition.
Elevators will get more than their fair share of abuse.
